Every Twigz toothpick starts with 100% birch wood. Birch is a hardwood with a fine, even grain structure that gives it consistent porosity across the entire toothpick. This uniform porosity is critical -- it allows the nicotine solution to absorb evenly during the infusion process, so every part of the toothpick delivers the same amount of nicotine as you chew.

Birch has a long history in food-contact applications. Popsicle sticks, tongue depressors, coffee stirrers, and traditional toothpicks are commonly made from birch. It has a neutral taste that does not interfere with added flavorings, and it softens gradually when exposed to moisture from your mouth, creating a comfortable chewing experience.

Our birch wood is sustainably sourced and undergoes food-grade processing before the nicotine infusion step. The result is a toothpick that is structurally sound enough to hold up during use but pliable enough to chew without splintering.

Twigz uses USP (United States Pharmacopeia) food-grade synthetic nicotine. Synthetic nicotine is manufactured in a laboratory rather than extracted from tobacco plants. It is chemically identical to the nicotine molecule found in tobacco but is produced independently of the tobacco plant.

The USP designation means the nicotine meets pharmaceutical-grade purity standards. Each toothpick contains a precisely measured dose -- either 3mg or 6mg depending on the product -- applied during the infusion process for consistent delivery from toothpick to toothpick.

Because the nicotine is synthetic, TWIGZ products contain zero tobacco leaf, zero tobacco extract, and zero tobacco-derived nicotine. The nicotine is the only active ingredient in the toothpick.

Each Twigz flavor uses food-grade flavorings to create its taste profile. These flavorings are classified as GRAS (Generally Recognized as Safe) for food-contact use.

Our current flavor lineup includes Cinnamon, Malibu Mint, Miami Vice, and Smooth. Each flavor is formulated to complement the neutral taste of birch wood and to last throughout the 20 to 40 minute lifespan of the toothpick.

We do not use artificial dyes, artificial sweeteners, or synthetic flavor compounds. The flavoring is applied alongside the nicotine solution during the infusion process, so both flavor and nicotine are distributed evenly throughout the toothpick.
