ACCESSIBILITY
We build twigzlabs.com to meet WCAG 2.1 Level AA. That is the standard we hold ourselves to, and this page says what that means in practice, what we know is not there yet, and how to tell us when something is broken for you.
What this site does
Everything works from a keyboard
Every control is reachable and operable with a keyboard. Option groups such as flavor, quantity and delivery schedule are single tab stops with arrow keys moving between the options, which is the pattern a screen reader expects from a radio group.
Structure a screen reader can follow
Real headings in order, real lists, real tables with row and column headers, and labels on every control. Icons that carry meaning have text beside them; icons that do not are hidden from assistive technology rather than read out.
Nothing scrolls sideways
No part of this site asks you to drag content horizontally to read it. Where a comparison is too wide for a phone, the same information is stacked instead, and the underlying table stays available to a screen reader at every width.
Contrast and target size
Text is checked against a 4.5 to 1 contrast ratio and interface elements against 3 to 1. Anything you tap is at least 44 by 44 pixels, which is the size that matters on a phone.
Motion you can turn off
Animation respects your system reduced-motion setting. If you have asked your device for less movement, this site gives you less movement.
Live updates are announced
Cart quantities, order totals and free-shipping progress update in place. Those regions are marked so a screen reader reads the change instead of leaving you to guess.
What is not there yet
A page claiming everything is perfect is not worth reading. These are the gaps we know about.
- Checkout is hosted by Shopify. We set it up, but its accessibility is Shopify's implementation rather than ours, and we cannot fix its markup directly.
- Some customer review photographs have no alternative text, because they are submitted by customers and we do not currently ask for a description.
